  • So you want to accomplish the impossible...

People seem to think that to accomplish their goals they need to contact some celebrity to make it happen for them. Dont get me wrong asking for help is a good way to get things done, but you have to be talking to the right people. Accomplishing things will be so much more fulfilling if you do them yourself. Now you may be wondering if you cant get people to do it for you where do you start? Well here are some ways to help get you from start to finish on the road to accomplishing your goal.

1- Know what you want. Think about what you want to do and why you want to do it. If you say "I want to sky dive" because thats what everyone says and you dont know what else to say, then you most likely wont get it done. It has no purpose to you. You would be doing it just to do it with no meaning behind it. Now if you did that same thing to overcome your fear of heights thats different. It matters to you. You have a reason now. Also make sure your doing things for you. If you say "I want to lose 20 lbs." because you think your boyfriend will like you better but in all reality you feel fine with your weight, then you wont do it. Starting to see a pattern here? Know what you want and do things for you.

2- Once you know what you want you need to take that first step to get the ball rolling. So many people have great plans that fail because they never set them in motion. Looking at the whole picture the project may seem daunting and impossible but if you break it down it becomes much easier. Think of the easiest thing you can do to accomplish this goal, even if it is just telling someone about it. Do it quickly while you are still excited about it. If you keep putting it off you'll end up never doing it. Write out your plan step by step to determine how you will reach your goal. Sometimes you'll have multiple game plans and ideas. Thats not a bad thing. Dont be afraid to write down ideas that seem outrageous either. When trying to get things done you cant block out options. Think of your favorite person or character that always gets things done and never lets anything stand in their way. When writing your plans ask yourself what would that person do? How would they make this happen?

3- After you have got your plan think about who can help you. Who is involved with, in charge of, or educated about, that thing you seek. Become educated about what you are trying to do by using the internet, books, and shadowing people that do it. You cant be afraid to talk to people. Let them know what your trying to do and why. Usually they will help you.

4- Dont let rejection and set backs stop you. People will tell you no, they will put you down, they will make things harder, things will go wrong, and occasionally you will fail....for the moment. Dont let that stop you. If you accomplished everything without adversity or conflict life would be boring. These set backs will only make the victory that much sweeter when you finally beat all the odds and say "I did it!"

5- Ask yourself what you have to offer. In general people dont have time, they dont care about things that dont effect them, and they dont like to be used. Think of what you have to offer in trade for their help. 9 times out of 10 it is not a monetary item. They want your time, your help, you opinion, your advice, etc. We all have the ability to listen to someone else and to help out in our own way. If you keep your eye out you'll be able to see how you can make their life easier and in turn that usually makes them more likely to help you.

Well thats a general group of tips right there. There are so many more little details but it would take me forever to write them all and some things just need to be taught in person. I hope this helps you to get started though. I'm a planner and list maker by nature so if anyone would like help with one of their plans let me know and I would love to help.

  • I have eaten escargot a few times now actually. The first time was while I was in junior high. Our class learned about proper etiquette and then we got to test out our new manners at a fancy French restaurant called La Caille. It was fun but I could never justify spending that much money on food. Before dinner we had a chance to walk around the grounds and look at all their gardens. They also had a lot of swans and peacocks, which seemed fitting. They did have a llama that seemed pretty out of place though. This is actually where my kiss a llama list item came about. My friend told me a llama wouldn’t let you near it if it didn’t like you. Animals tend to like me (with the exception of parrots for some reason) so I thought kissing a llama would be easy and added it to the list. Now looking back it seems pretty stupid but oh well if its on the list I do it…. Or try to do it. I didn’t get time to attempt my kiss on that llama because it was time to go eat. The butter was carved into flower shapes and the meat was as big as my plate. My desert was on fire… and then there were the snails. That was on my list so I planned on eating them but as soon as they were sitting on the table I started to lose my nerve. My friend’s comments were not helping. My dad had also come as a parent chaperone and he decided we would all eat them together. So we got ready and at the count of 3 we all shoved them in our mouths, ok me and Amanda did. My dad set his down and said he doesn’t eat bugs. What a rip off! She spit hers out so in the end I was the only one that ended up eating mine. Honestly they aren’t that bad. I don’t mind them but I’m not going to be trying to prepare that at home either. My most memorable escargot experience was when we ate them on the cruise. The eyeballs were still on and I felt the stringy part on my tongue. I almost lost it right there. I ate though. I think I have eaten enough snails for one lifetime!

  • Cabo: day 7 SNEAKING BACK INTO THE U.S. :-/

Time to go home L I lost my passport last night so I was a little worried I wasn’t going to be able to get home but we ended up hopping a fence while no one was looking and made it ok. Its not like I was trying to sneak in through Arizona. We are all outside sleeping in a pile of luggage while we wait for the bus. I’m pretty sure you can figure out how the ride home will go without me having to write it all. See you at home.

  • Cabo: Day 5 FOXX VS TYLER BOXING MATCH IN ENSENADA

I’ll admit when we first got here things were a little bit dicey. Right off the bat we got trapped in this building full of shops where people were trying to rip me off. They were charging more than what we pay at home for things and trying to tell me it was a great deal. The workmanship was crap and the people were pushy and rude. We had a promo for Monster Energy drinks and I was really worried we weren’t going to make it on time. We ended up getting there just in the nic of time. Once we got there and had our t-shirts on I settled down a little and had a lot more fun. WE posed for pictures and sold shirts. There were some dirt bikes that we got to ride on during our lunch break. The event was a success and we were invited back. We were also loaded up with plenty of Monster gear J Ensenada was busy for us because we were double booked….well I was anyway. The other girls had it easy. We had a few hours between the Monster promotion and when I had to check in for my Hypnotiq promo so we decided to have a look around the city. We started with the patio right outside of the Monster store. They had a live band that we danced to and then took some pictures with a giant pepper. There was an inflatable boxing ring so Jenna and Alexa tried to box each other with giant gloves. The fight went like this

Boxing match in Ensenada Mexico Jenna Foxx VS Alexa Tyler

Round 1- a bit of kicking from both sides. Jenna does an over head swing and misses by a mile. Alexa takes the chance to pound her in the face.  Jenna falls to the floor. (not knocked out obviously but we decided that counts).

Round 2- Jenna comes back with a vengeance. She throws in some illegal hammer kicks while judge dad is putting sauce on his burrito and not paying attention. She’s got her on the ropes. Jenna wins that round.

Round 3- The finals. Both are fighting pretty hard for the win. It could go either way. Almost starting to look like a cat fight between lobsters (because the gloves are so big). Both are hopping around like those flying monkeys on wizard of oz. Brooke spills nacho sauce on her shirt and licks it off. Tension is building in the crowd. Jenna does a flying Dragon Ball Z punch to the head and quickly lands a few more. It seems like she may be about to win it but her dress falls off. Alexa steals the opportunity to jump on her and wins the fight by total disregard of any form of rules.

We noticed we had drawn quite an audience when the fight was over and people started clapping. Alexa is a total ham so she was eating up all the attention. I love Ensenada because they have all kinds of crazy statues everywhere. I cant get enough of them. I wish we had more of them at home. We have those painted buffalo which are cool and everything but its not the same. I did my Hypnotiq promo. Of course it was fun. Afterward we had a little bit of time left so we went shopping and met a kid who looks like a Mexican vampire. We decided we wanted a puppy so he took us on a random trip through the city in search of one. We had to go before we could find any though. I’m back at the boat enjoying the sun and this Jamaican band. This is bliss. Next year lets all go on a cruise. What do you think, want to join me?

  • Cabo: Day 4 Free stuff day

T-Dawg our room guy is great. He came by to drop off some extra robes for us today and we had a fun little freestyle rap session in our room. We showed him a bunch of the souvenirs we bought and he gave us some tips about great places to shop that most tourists don’t know about. I knew I loved that guy. Jorge is our server at dinner. He is a lot of fun, reminds me of my friend Sanchez. He has a lot of kids and misses them so I think he likes hanging out with us sometimes. We did the Macarena with him at dinner tonight. I wish I could see him and T-dawg everyday. These two are a lot of fun. We are making friends with a lot of the staff. That’s just what happens when we show up. They have all been really nice and they go out of their way to make things really nice for us. We have a lot of fun visiting with them and recording all the random moments of silliness we bring out in them. I woke up late today, went straight to the gym. Today is a sea day so we have to spend all our time on the ship. We visited our friends in the kitchen and they were really nice as always. We got to go on a small tour of the kitchen and make a few chocolate strawberry tuxedos. I don’t know if that’s normal or not but either way it was a really sweet thing for them to do. After that we dropped off some candy to Jorge because we know its his favorite. He gave us some free golf passes so we got to go play golf on the top deck. I’m better at golf on a boat. I think it gives me a slight advantage. We stopped by the spa for our scheduled massages and talked to the girls there. We were trading beauty secrets and they taught us a lot of really cool tricks. They asked if we were going to the art/ diamond auctions that night but we hadn’t had time to check the schedule since we slept in late so we didn’t know about it. The girls said we HAD to go because there were so many unique things there so we decided to go. The fact that you had to get really dressed up also played a part in our decision :P The girls were so nice, they did our hair and make up for us so we would be all ready to go after dinner. Jorge was very complimentary at dinner. He was like a dad watching all his daughters go to prom lol he seemed a bit teary but I’m not really sure why?

At the art auction there was a drawing that I entered and won. Didn’t win any diamonds though. I cant be too bummed about that. Today was the day of all kinds of free stuff and I’m not much of a diamond girl. Glass works just fine for me. I think they would be appalled if they saw my jewelry. Rope bracelets, wooden beads, string…not exactly the epitome of lavish jewelry ;)

Oh well, simple outdoorsy girl, simple outdoorsy jewelry, it fits me. Headed out to Jekyll and Hyde to watch Jenna and Brooke dance. It’s Brooke’s first night. See you all tomorrow

  • Cabo: Day 3 CABO SAN LUCAS LION

I am feeling much better today. I’m sure it was thanks to our hot chocolate toast last night ;) We got to Cabo early this morning while we were in the gym. When we finally got out onto the beach Jenna spent $50 in the first 5 minutes because she cant say no. We tried on giant hats and walked through the shops looking at all the stuff they had. It was fun but nothing really caught my eye….until I saw Hooters. :D I’m sorry but I love that place. I want to work where I can wear shorts and tank tops. Brooke had to check in for her swim with dolphins so we had to stop by there first. After she got signed in she had to wait for her group before she could go out to the tank so we were waiting with her. We were underground and they had windows so you could see into the dolphin tank. We walked up to it but couldn’t see anything. Suddenly a dolphin popped up in front of the glass from below the window and Brooke started screaming lol If that’s how she reacts to them maybe she shouldn’t be getting in the tank with one! After we made sure she was all set me and Jenna left to explore some more. First stop Hooters. I bought some shorts that are way cute. Cant wait to show them to you all! The d.j. from the Jekyll and Hyde club on our ship was there and was trying to hit on me but I didn’t realize he was talking to me. Later that night when I was doing go-go for the club he was teasing me for ignoring him.

On the way back to Brooke I saw a stand where you could get your picture taken with a lion cub. I used to play with them when I was little but I don’t have any pictures so I was ecstatic!  Its on the list to get a picture with a live lion so of course I made Jenna do it. A lot of people were standing around but I was surprised at how many were just there to look. No one wanted to hold the cub. They were acting like we were so brave/insane for holding her. That still confuses me. What are they scared of? I think its awesome and don’t see why more people wouldn’t want to take the opportunity. To each his own I guess? We put the lion in our laps and held her for the picture. She was older than the lion cubs I used to play with and much bigger. It was like holding a 5 month old lab in my lap. Her nails were clipped but  still pretty sharp. She sat pretty well at first but the lady was taking forever and the poor baby just wanted to play. ½ way through she bit me. It wasn’t hard at all but I could definitely feel the power in it. Even in a small nip. She could have easily bit me and crushed every bone in my hand, that’s how powerful their jaws are. Babies nip and I know that so I didn’t freak but the people around us were getting shifty and anxious. Lol between the scratches and the teeth marks it looks like I played with her not took pictures with her :P

After the lion we took pictures with some iguanas. One was wearing a sombrero and had a pretty smug look on his face. I think  he was pretty proud of the size of his hat. We got back just in time to watch Brooke swim with the dolphins. It was your typical dolphin swim. I think hearing her point of view is more exciting on that one. They had a parrot that Jenna played with while we were waiting but for some  reason birds hate me. They are nice to everyone else and then go all Alfred Hitchcock when I show up so I kept my distance. Once we told everyone about the lion they all wanted pictures too so we went back and did that again. She was tired by the time they got there so she was much easier to hold. By that time we really had to get over to Lover’s beach for our shoot. We took a glass bottom boat over there which happens to be another list item. On the way we took a little tour which was fun. The guys on the boat were really nice. They even carried us from the boat to the island so we wouldn’t have to get wet. Dad wasn’t very pleased but I thought it was sweet of them. While we were shooting I got bit by something and then carried half way out to the ocean in a wave. It was not very sexy but looks pretty funny on camera. Dad found a cool rock and went to show Alexa but it was full of crabs and they all came out. She FREAKED OUT!!!! My brother went swimming with his passport (hope it dries out), and we finished our shoot.  I cant post a whole lot because the calendar is a surprise but I’ll post what I can of the behind the scenes when me and Lex were making fake Corona ads :P We made one last stop before getting back to the ship because a mariachi band asked Alexa to join them. She figured why not test out her skills. We almost lost her to the Cabo Mariachi band :P

We barely made it back to the boat on time! It was my brothers turn to get lost at dinner. Afterwards we went to a hypnotist show in the Mikado lounge and then watched Alvin and the chipmunks in our room. I’m a nerd but I love that movie. It makes me laugh pretty hard. We heard a lot of commotion in the hallway and when we went to look we ran into some old ladies on their way to the top deck. Apparently there was a big dance contest going on. Well you know we wouldn’t miss something like that. We ate pizza while 200 dancing grandma’s did the cha-cha in showgirl outfits. One of the grannies mooned us. We had a dance battle with them and my friend Marissa krumped with a granny and one. The grandma held her own though! Krumping with old ladies is a really fun past time. Right after the dance contest me and Lex had to hurry and go change because it was our night to work the Jekyll and Hyde lounge (go-go dancing). We took pictures with the D.J. who incidentally is named Deejay. When we got off work I took her gambling for her first time. We just did the penny slots. Dang the machines are tight here. I’m still rocking around everywhere from the storm that hit a few hours ago. Going to bed. Night lovelies

  • Cabo: Day 2 We made it

We FINALLY got to California today. I have been typing up my blog so I have time to go play J when we got here we took a drive past the pier and looked at all the boats. I could work on a dock. It seems like a nice place to work anyway. I love boats. The bus is still nasty but we stopped at McDonalds today for breakfast and I won a free meal so I’m trying to remain optimistic about this whole trip. We still had some time to kill so we stopped at a park and I used the time to catch up on some sleep. I didn’t wake up until it was time to board. Me and Jenna were roommates and already had our paperwork so we got on the ship before everyone else. We made our way to the top where we had lunch and got cute drinks with umbrellas in them. After that we went to our room to pack. Its nice in here but we cant figure out how to shut of f the fan so its pretty cold. I’m about to head over to a mandatory life vest safety class. BORING!! I’ll finish when I get back…

Well Me and Lex survived life vest lessons. Although she cant be serious to save her life (no pun intended). We were late for dinner because we kept getting lost and went into the wrong dining room 3 times in a row! We took my brother to the spa with us and he won a free facial hair trimming thing. He is just a kid and barely has eyebrows let alone a beard :P Well I am out for the night. I’m exhausted. Sweet dreams everyone

     view

Our room had curtains and a fake window but when you looked back there it was just a wall so we added a view and left it for the next people to find.

  • Cabo: Day 1

Never let your parents plan any trip that you want to have fun on! We were headed to Cabo for our calendar shoot and I asked my dad for some tips on a few little things. He ended up getting excited and going into overhaul! We brought him on the trip as a safety net but he had other plans. First he ordered this giant bus. We wanted to fly but he thought the road trip would be a fun idea :-/ I HATE being crammed into small spaces with a bunch of people so as you can imagine me and Lex were pretty pissed. Brooke was just glad she got to go and Jenna was being the positive one as always. We had to meet the bus at the house early in the morning. I was surprised at how fast everyone got on board for how many people there were. Oh, did I forget to mention dad called grandpa who called a few people and now half my family tree was climbing onto one stinky little bus. I tried sleeping but I was pretty sick and the strong farty smell in the bus really wasn’t helping. Dad was in charge of the movies and the first thing he put on was a video of the church choir. F-ME!!!!! We were like a church musical on wheels. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse he put on a bunch of home videos for the whole bus to see. I’m sure the whole bus wanted to know that I asked for ninja turtle underwear when I was 4 ugh!. I tried going back to sleep but kids were screaming and the fart smell got stronger. Finally my dad put on Curious George which we all agreed we could live with, but he switched it 5 minutes later for one about a kid with a pet chicken that gets killed by Nazi’s (the chicken no the kid).

Finally we got a break in St. George to stretch our legs for a little bit and switch bus drivers. I contemplated hiding in the gas station and hitch hiking my way to the airport. Alas, I ended up on the bus again L The rest of the trip was pretty self explanatory 100 people sweating, stinking, on a bus.
