  • Cheap things to do to entertain yourself

Ok I know there are a lot of suggestions out there for cheap or free things to do to entertain yourself. I realize most of mine are a little strange but I'm kind of strange. Plus I wanted to give some suggestions that weren't your average answers.

1-     re-live your childhood: Bring all your favorite childhood games, movies, and candy and enjoy a blast from the past. It’s kind of fun to re-live those memories and to see what your partner was into as well.

2-     night games: It doesn’t matter how old you are you can still play night games. You remember the classics, ghost in the graveyard, kick the can, steal the flag…..

    3- street hockey

    4- Go to the park

    5- hiking

6- flash light golf: It’s harder than people think but it’s really fun

7- go to a free sports event and do something stupid to get on the jumbo tron

8- break a few rules: sneak into a nature preserve at night, swim in a public fountain, it doesn’t have to be super scandalous but a little rebellion now and then is a good thing.

9- do a list item: If you have a bucket list find something on it and try to cross it off. If you don’t have one yet, make one!

    10- pottery

11- race fish in the bath tub: They are 10 cents at wal-mart. It’s hard to race them but it’ll keep you busy for hours.

12- catch frogs: you can substitute frogs for butterflies, fireflies, snipes. whatever you have in your area.

13- breakfast party: Invite all your friends over for breakfast. We used to do this every dat. After word got around that I was doing it people would beg to come. It’s cheap. Everyone brings something small eggs, hash browns, bacon, etc. and then you all cook it together and eat. Sometimes we would play video games or watch cartoons during breakfast then everyone would leave around noon to change because we wore our pajamas to the breakfast party.

14- host a themed party: This never gets old! We have pirate parties and play games we make up like pirate poker and cannon wars (pretty much like battle ships). We’ve had pirate parties and ninja turtle parties and super hero parties, weird outfit parties…you name we have probably tried it. Making up your own games is fun too.

15- go out in public in disguise: We were prom dresses or other weird things out in public sometimes. It’s fun to pretend to be a cowgirl once in a while. We have also discovered that when we wear formal clothes we get a lot of stuff for free.

16- turbo fug- this game is way fun and way simple. It’s perfect for when you are totally broke. You go to a thrift store or another one of our favorites is Ross, and break up into teams. Then match one person from each team to a person on the opposite team. Then they have to get the ugliest outfit they can find for the person they picked. You try them all on and everyone comes out to show each other (we take pictures at that point) and the one who picked the ugliest outfit wins.

17- photo scavenger hunt- Go online or just ask me for a list of things to do for a photo scavenger hunt. You get into teams and each team has a list of ridiculous things to go get pictures of. The team who crosses off the most items on their list wins.

    18- cook new foods together

19- Try something that neither of you have ever done before

    20- Learn a new language

21- go somewhere neither of you have ever been before

22- Go online to weirdus.com (or similar sites) to see what kind of weird things you have in your area. We go to hobbitville out here all the time

23- Check out something that’s haunted. If your feeling brave look up the haunted places in your area and go visit one. If you feel really brave go spend the night!

24- volunteer together: homeless shelters, nursing homes, animal shelters, habitat for humanity, day cares, schools…there are a lot of places you can lend a helping hand.

    25- mud football

    26- volleyball

27- what if and other board games: what if  is easy. Everyone has two pieces of paper (little ones) one one paper they write a what if question. They throw them all into a bowl, mix them up and draw a new one out. Then you write an answer to that question. Throw the question in the question bowl and the answer in the answer bowl. Then you mix them up and draw them out again. The mixed up questions and answers usually turn out pretty funny. You can play any board game though

28- check for community freebies: usually you can get into clubs free before a certain time, newspapers put out coupons for free baseball games, movies in the park, concerts, carnivals, rodeos, etc. Just check your local newspaper or craigslist.

29- balloon <3: buy smiley face balloons at the dollar store and one dozen cupcakes. Then take a balloon and cup cake to all your friends at work to surprise them and brighten their day.

30- lan party: everyone brings their x-box over and an extra gaming tv and then links up and plays video games all night. (that’s more for the gamer crowd obvs)

31- bbq: everyone bring something small and enjoy a nice bbq in the park

32- Watch a sports game on tv and take candy bets on it. Even if it’s something dumb like horse racing. Get dressed up in all your spirit gear and really get competitive with it.

33- chalk party: buy a bucket of chalk and invite a bunch of friends over and see how much ground you can cover with your amazing street art

34- build a fort: you may think you are too old but your not. If it’s snowy you can build one outside or you can do it the old fashioned way in the house.

35- nerf wars or water fight

36- balloon volleyball: you get a balloon and use furniture to play volleyball. It’s very simple but strangely addictive

37- people watch: airports are great for it…so is wal-mart

38- lie to strangers: We tell people we just met that we are engaged, or have ridiculous conversations when we know people are watching, we act like Russian tourists or whatever other weird thing we can think of. You try to get people to believe your ridiculous stories. The only rules are that you have to stay in character and that you can’t laugh or you lose.

39- make home videos/skits with your camera: We used to make scary movies all the time. It’s funny to look back at them now.

    40- go sledding

41- steal toilet paper from the gas station and toilet paper one of your friends. Don’t do it if it’s going to rain though

42- trash someone’s room: You get balloons, confetti, candy and streamers and while they are gone totally trash/decorate their room for no reason. Don’t break anything obviously.

43- radar: Ring a doorbell and run. Instead of regular doorbell ditching you make cookies and leave them on the porch then ring the door bell and run.

44- fly kites: fly bags if your really ghetto ( lol I’ve done it before)

    45- go to a museum

    46- play strip poker

47- buy a bag of marshmallows and have a fire

48- go to a car show

49 – sneak into a hotel pool or go to the lake

50- spy on someone/have a stake out: There doesn’t really have to be a reason.

    51- karaoke

52- play in the toy store

53- take random mini road trips : get lost around town. Turn down streets you’ve never been on before and stop when you see things that look interesting.

54- clothing trade or redesign: Bring old clothes you don’t want anymore and change them. I’ll warn you now though boys tend to grab a pair of scissors and skank out the outfit :P

55- get fake tattoos: Pick each other’s if you want things to get interesting

  • R.I.P. Rick Kobus (Still miss you kid)

Rick died in a motorcycle accident. Ironically we always told him to wear a helmet and he never did. He was wearing his helmet the day he died. I'm sure he's saying "Told you so". He lived life in the fast lane for sure. There were lots of really pretty girls at the funeral crying for him. His bullet bike was there (the parts they recovered), and there were pictures of his car everywhere. Rick was so cute and did have a lot of cool stuff but the thing I will remember about him the most is when we were alone once and we were talking. He was being so real with me. He totally opened up and we talked about his thoughts and dreams and some of his insecurities and he told me about his nose.

I was alone when they called me to tell me he had been in an accident. I remember the first thing that came to mind was the fight we had right before he died. I cried really hard because I had been so mean to him. I really debated going to the funeral because I thought maybe he wouldnt want me to. I had a dream that night and Rick was in it. He was smiling and really happy and he kept showing me his nose. When he was alive he had told me he was really self concious about it because it had a bump. He was really happy because it was fixed. The dream was weird because we talked but it wasnt like normal talking. It was more like you feel what the other person is saying. Talking through emotions sort of. I dont know how to explain it but he just kept saying over and over he was happy and he was perfect and I knew there were no hard feelings. None of that fighting stuff matters anymore. At the funeral when his mom got up to speak she told us she had also had a dream about Rick. I got chills because she described the means of communication the same way as it had been in my dream. She told us Rick had told her that fast cars, and having lots of things dont matter, in the end all that matters is love. I keep that message in my heart to this day. I also think people should say what they need to say. You never know when you might not get the chance. Dont hold grudges because in the end it wont matter anyway. say your sorry more than you argue and love more than you fight. Thank you Rick for teaching me so many things. I'm sure you'll be the heart breaker of heaven now ;)

  • #4 Milk a cow

While we were filming we got stuck going to this “Pioneer Village” thing. It was like waking up in a colonial nightmare! Lol we had to wear old fashioned clothes and it looked like we were on the set of little house on the prairie. We made our own butter, collected chicken eggs, fed pigs, and milked cows. I like the whole farm part of it but I’m not big on wearing old fashioned skirts and bonnets. I hate bonnets! I should have worn mine but I put it on a goat instead. I learned my lesson! I am sun burned to the point that my skin looks like leather. I got pretty scratched up by the chickens and I have a new found fear of geese so when we got to the cows I was pretty happy to see a quiet animal. The cows kept kicking over the buckets and I was determined to be the best milker (I’m competitive like that) so I warmed my hands up first. My cow didn’t even flinch. I’m good at milking cows. Go figure ;) So I won the milking contest. I’ll post some photos soon. Since it was during filming I don’t know if I can post video or not but if I can I will.

  • I could really use a wish right now

        chii_wishing_star_chobits_

I don’t know what it is about me but in my life I have noticed that I have to work SO hard for everything I have. Don’t misinterpret that. I love that it worked out that way, but sometimes it's hard. I am obsessively independent so working hard is what keeps me going. The thing I noticed though is that there are so many people that try to take everything I have from me all the time. I have lost everything and built my way back up many, many, times. I don’t understand why people insist on treating me this way. I am considerate of others and try to be polite and compassionate but I also know how to be tactfully assertive and I am not a doormat. Is it because they think I don’t deserve it? Because they want to see me fail? Do they just hate me? Or maybe they think it is easy for me and that it’s ok to take everything I have because I can get it back again? I don’t know. I don’t do what I do to impress others or get fame or attention or material things other than the necessities so I try not to let it phase me. I’m not angry by this behavior but I am confused. I want to work hard. I want to be good at what I do. I want people to value my opinion because they know that I am creative, that I know what I am talking about, and that I will look out for their best interest as well as my own. I want to be known as an honest and caring person. Most of all I want to help people. When I see how people treat each other. How they bully, and backstab. How people feel unloved and unwanted. Any suffering or heart break really. I hate it. I want to change the world….or at least as much of it as I can get to. I wish I was smarter, had more resources, etc. so I could help more. I do the best I can and I give people everything I have to help them anyway I can but I can only do so much before I run out of options.

  • Shamwow

SO on my list of 100 things you may not know about me I was talking about my nerdy obsession with vaccums, the circus and Shamwow. You can imagine my surprise when I found out there is a Shamwow music video. If I would have known I would have auditioned for the part of Shamwow dancing girl. ;)

This was made by DJ Steve Porter and features Vince Offer

  • Hair show

Its time for the annual hair show J I’m not going to lie I’m a little irritated with the stylists this year. We got in way early but they were still super un-organized and did things last minute. The group I was supposed to be in (Peter Pan) got cut so I lost my spot in the show as Wendy. Its not my first or last show so that part didn’t bother me but I felt really bad for Daisy (one of my models) because she was cast as princess Tiger Lily and she got cut too. She had taken a lot of time off work to do the show and had driven an hour to every last minute practice they had. It was going to be her first show and she was so excited about it L. I got some tickets and we went to the show anyway to support our other girls Alexa, Jenna, Asiah, and Jaqi in Alice in Wonderland. Over all we had a really good time and I think they had some really great sets. Here are a few photos from before, after, and during the show.

  • I like weird things: Unique hotels

Ok so I have my list of things I want to do in my life and visiting unique hotels is one of them. I love weird things and themed things. To be specific I want to visit a bunch of themed restaurants and hotels. The best part is that I can go by myself but if I get married my guy can come explore them with me and then we can make a tradition of taking our kids to them. See, who says I dont plan ahead?  Here are a couple of the ones I think are muy bien (or at least look like they are)

I am going to go meet the creator of the hotel this summer. Stoked!!!!

  • R.I.P. Sonya

                               DSCN0028

Sonya was a really bold person. She had a really strong personality and she was pretty funny. She got really sick with pnemonia and then caught H1N1 and it put her in a coma. I really thought she would come out of it but I guess she couldnt. She was the type of person you cant help but love even when she was being stubborn or bossy :P I know she's happy now but I still miss her.

  • Good Recovery. Clever stripper...very clever

    clever-stripper.jpg

This is a note sent to a teacher in regard to a picture a little girl drew of her mommy at work. In case you can't tell, her mother shakes her booty for singles. Or does she? Yes, she does. Like that many people would go running for a shovel with a fistful of ones. Also why no one in this photo is wearing clothing :-/ Very suspicious....

    Picture [flickr]

Thanks to Emma, who has never participated in take your daughter to work day. Don't worry Emma, I'm sure she's not a stripper.
