I am about to share with you a secret that will save you tons in eye shadow! It will help you preserve your sanity and hard earned dollars.  It might be a little bit of fun for your Monday too, but I don’t want to assume things on your behalf. This little tip was passed on through a few people before it got to me. I owe my new skills to Emma, who learned from Alison, who learned it from the one and only miss Kandee. One of my favorite make-up artists.

Dont you just hate when you spend a ton of money to get the good stuff only to have your eye shadow fall to the ground and shatter into useless dust? Here is a little trick I started using on my make-up at home and the make up we use in studio. It has already saved me over $100 in eye shadow. I'm so glad Kandee let us in on her secret and thanks to the other girls for sharing. Here's what you do:

Do you ever break your eyeshadow?  Like, drop it on the ground and shatter it?  It’s heartbreaking, especially when you’ve forked over serious cash for the good stuff.  I’ve thrown away hundreds of dollars in makeup because I’ve shattered it doing heaven knows what.

I’m here to teach you how to repair it.

Here’s what you need:

• shattered eyeshadow
• coin {I used an American quarter}
• rubbing alcohol
• tissue
• butter knife
• medicine squirter
• {not pictured} plastic bag or plastic wrap

Step 1:

Place the shattered makeup carefully into the plastic bag holding the plastic carefully over the top.

Step 2:

Hold the plastic tightly across the top of the eyeshadow and with the back of the butter knife smash all the remaining bits of eyeshadow into a fine powder.

Step 3:

When the eyeshadow looks like this, you’re ready to go.  Pull the eyeshadow out of the plastic bag, we’re on to step 4!

Step 4:

Using the medicine squirter put a couple squirts of rubbing alcohol into the broken eyeshadow.  Make sure the eyeshadow is completely saturated with the rubbing alcohol.

Step 5:

Now put the tissue on top of the eyeshadow and put the coin on top of that.  Press down with all the force in the world.  You’re re-compacting the eyeshadow, so don’t be shy.

If this photo grosses you out I do not recommend googling images of maggots in wound or you might throw up!

I usually dont put much stock in most of my dreams because I know they are just a warped regurgitation of things I saw and heard throughout the day. Ocassionally I have dreams that mean something but they are different. I can tell when its something important or not. Most people say they cant remember their dreams but I do. I can be dreaming something, wake up, and then go back to sleep and continue dreaming it. I think that helps things I dream to stick out in my mind more. Anyway, I keep having this recurring dream and I wondered if anyone was good at dream interpretation and could give me an idea as to why I keep dreaming it. It slightly varies but has the same over all message.

Dream 1: I looked at my palms and I had really deep cuts all over them. It was almost like a maze pattern cut into my hand. It wasnt bleeding and it didnt hurt. The edges of the gashes were really jagged and un-even. It was yellowish and really infected. Inside the cuts I could see maggots but I wasnt worried because in my dream I told myself maggots only eat dead tissue. I dug my fingers into one of my palms and grabbed a maggot but as I pulled it out it got long and skinny. Like a tape worm maybe? Then I dreamed some other weird stuff and woke up.

Dream 2: My palms had deep cuts in them again but this time only three vertical lines. Like before there was no pain and no bleeding. The lines werent as jagged and although the cuts were deep enough to see inside of my palm there was no infection. I looked at my palms and saw the maggots inside again. They were moving and it bothered me because it made my hands itch but I left them. Then I woke up.

Dream 3: My palms as always were cut really deep, no pain, no bleeding. I could see the tissue in them. This time I only had one vertical line and up near the knuckle bone right below my pointer finger I had a crescent shaped cut. There were only two maggots inside. I wasnt really bothered by them at first because again in my dream I told myself they only eat dead tissue. Except they started burrowing. I quickly tried to pull them out but they got away. Then I noticed my pointer finger was bleeding. At the tip of my finger there was a decent sized hole and blood  was gushing out. One of the maggots quickly burrowed into the hole before I could catch it. It didnt hurt at  all but it upset me that I couldnt catch them. That was the end of the dream.

I'm not a cutter and I can have a temper at times so if something is bothering me I just say it. I dont think the cuts in my dream have anything to do with self inflicted pain but I dont know why they are always there on my palms. Usually in my dreams my body is fine. Its just in these ones that there are always cuts and maggots. Any ideas what it means?

Washington was a lot of fun. We went to Forks to see if we could find any vampire boyfriends for ourselves. No luck. Victoria was gorgeous, then again it always is. I love being down by the docks at sunset. We visited some friends and did a photo shoot. Here are some of the photos from this trip and from last time we were out there.

Me and Brooke decided pretty last minute to go on this roadtrip. We had mentioned it a few times but both of us thought the other was kidding. We drove FOREVER so most of our videos are on the road. Our first stop was in Idaho. We were at the gas station and we noticed a trading post across the street. They had a horse statue with a light up rudolph nose so we decided to take a peek inside. We found some coon skin hats to pay with so we bought them. They are really good for keeping your head warm. There was a lot of road time and we finally ended up in Oregon where we did a little witch hunting. For the record there are no witches in Ontario. We didnt get to stay long because we had to get to Washington.  

While we were at the senior trailer court in Arizona we met some really nice ladies that had wanted to donate lap blankets to the paralyzed veterans. We really liked their idea and wanted to help out. I dont know anything about knitting and neither does the team but we all learned how to whip stitch so we could put these blankets together. We did the first set and had so much fun that we did another batch. Here are some of the pictures.
